TopSolid'ShopFloor system requirements
Prerequisite
Requirements for TopSolid’ShopFloor Server
To ensure a fully integrated environment, a TopSolid process must be run on the server, which handles commands from the TopSolid’ShopFloor server. Because of this situation and to achieve the best possible performance, the server should be configured in a similar way to a TopSolid workstation.
For a secure backup and maintenance, we recommend a virtual server which is only intended for TopSolid products. Accessible through an assigned user with local administrator rights for installations, updates, and other maintenance. As an operating system, we recommend Windows Server 2019 or a newer version.
Hardware specifications
Processor
We recommed 4-8 logical processors. This number depends on the number of TopSolid’ShopFloor and TopSolid clients. For an optimal performance, a high clock rate is required.
- •Type: Intel Xeon (State 2019: Xeon E/Gold)
- Clock frequency base: minimum > 2.5 GHz / optimal > 3.5 GHz
- Clock frequency Turbo: minimum > 3.5 GHz / optimal > 4.5 GHz
- Logical processors: minimum 2 / optimal >= 4
Memory
- 8-32 GB
The size of memory depends on the size of the environment and the number of connected users. Recommended value for a mid-size company is 16 GB.
Storage
RAID 1 & Daily Backup (vm-snapshot)
- Partition 1 (C:): 100 GB for installation (Windows & Applications)
- Partition 2: approx. 200 GB for data (depends on the size of the environment)
RAID 1: (optional)
- Partition 3: approx. 500 GB for TopSolid’ShopFloor Viewer data. This data is cached by TopSolid’ShopFloor for a best performance.
For the maximum performance, we recommend SSD.
